ATTENTION COSPLAYERS:

I would like to make the paint brand “Angelus” known. It is a special paint that is for leather, faux leather, rubber, and similar surfaces.

This is literally the best paint you can buy if you love a pair of shoes, but they aren’t in the right color for your character.

This stuff coats VERY well AND the coats of paint bend with your shoes. This means no cracking!!

In the photos above I took black rain boots and painted them with Angelus Turquoise. As you can see, they don’t look black any more! It’s so good!

I managed to paint two boots with a little one ounce bottle of the paint, and I still have a third of the bottle left over!

The paint dries very fast, so you can put layer on top of layer on top of layer without it streaking.

You can get the paint on Amazon and it comes in every color!

I just really wanted to make this known!! 😀 This stuff is amazing!

Don’t buy Angelus pain’t on Amazon, it’s like $6.99 an ounce. Buy it direct from their online store the poster above linked, the single ounce bottles are $2.95 there. Also, a little goes a long way, unless you have something HUGE to paint, you can probably do it with a small bottle. I barely dented the one I got doing all the black on this;

Angelus is amazing! Just leave a little shipping time from their site—my brother and I customize sneakers with it, and they work well even on everyday wear items

I am SO HAPPY to finally be able to announce this!

A year ago, I did tests on products to smooth Worbla for painting – Pros and Cons of each. And my favorite of that batch was Flexbond, especially as I live in the land of ‘I can only reliably spraypaint 6 months out of the year’

It took almost a year of negotiations with Rosco, but Worbla.com and Cosplay Supplies are now offering a much more cosplayer-friendly 16oz containers of Flexbond with free shipping when you purchase with thermoplastics.

Flexbond does take a bit of getting used to – it doesn’t behave quite the way Mod Podge and Wood Glue do, and you need a drop of patience when applying it, but the results are worth it: especially when you make armor that has to travel or be stored away.

Take a look at this page with video, images and a breakdown on how Flexbond works. There will be more even tutorials and content soon!

Cata: You can also use Flexbond on EVA foam/craft foam as a sealer. But really happy to hear Cosplay Supplies will be carrying the smaller size! The theatre supply stores in the area only carry 128 oz or higher (which is completely understandable) so I’ve been hesitant to commit to a large purchase.

BANDELETTES, MOTHERFUCKERS

So for my fellow Northern hemisphere dwellers, it’s nearly summer. That means it is probably starting to get hot. Skirt season! Hot damn!

But YE GODS, THE THIGH CHAFING. Sweat plus friction equals pain, redness, and extremely unhappy legs. If you have experienced the dreaded ‘chub rub’, you know how much it fucking sucks.

Not anymore, bitches.

Slap on a pair of Bandelettes. They come in black, white, red, beige, and brown if you want lace – and trust me, you want lace – or black and beige if you want a solid fabric like the ones pictured above. But the lace is sexy as fuck. Trust me. Go with the lace. It isn’t the horrible and itchy stuff, it’s nice.

So what you do is you measure your thigh right at where the chafing happens, right at the thickest part of your leg. You compare that to the Bandelettes sizing chart, you pick your size, and you’re off. I bought a pair (Beige Onyx, size C) and they don’t move around on me. No slipping. But also, no digging in! I can wear these for hours and they’re still very comfy.

You slide them up into position and they just… stay there. And they protect your gorgeous thighs from the ravages of summer rubbin’.

They’re lightweight, so you don’t feel like you’re wearing a ton of extra fabric. They’re washable – handwash and hang dry, but still washable! Did I mention they’re sexy as fuck?

SEXY. AS. FUCK.

Seriously, if thigh chafing is an issue for you, try these. I am loving my pair so far.

Dude I got a black and a white pair and they are MAGIC. Get them now. Don’t just “like this so that I’ll always have this as a ref” or whatever. NOW. They look great with shorts too. The lace isn’t uncomfortable at all and it looks super cute. I have HUGE thighs and I am one size below the largest size so if you think they won’t fit you, they probably will.
I’m probably gunna have a pair in every color by the time the summer is over. Get them get them get them.
End of PSA

Hi I need some help! I’m trying to sew some fabric onto a bra I got for a cosplay (it’s a surprise hehe) and I put a dart in the fabric but it’s still folding in some places. Any suggestions, tips or tricks?

cosplaytutorial:

It’s difficult to give you advice without a picture of what your results were or knowing what you are trying to achieve, so I’ll explain what I can:

To get that rounded shape of a bra cup, you’re usually looking at multiple pieces being sewn together so it curves with the breast.

Image from this tutorial: http://clothhabit.com/making-a-foam-cup-bra-part-1/

If it’s not in multiple pieces, it’s not going to curve well and that might be the cause of your issue. You can either match the bra cups by making a copy of the bra, or you could add more darts to fix the folds, or if it is a stretch fabric you can pull it so it stretches over a base like foam or worbla.

Best of luck!
